<title>Toxin From Fish Causes Illness in Humans</title>
<link>http://vcsa-dc.org/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=185</link>
<description>src: wtop.com

WASHINGTON - Several outbreaks of ciguatera fish poisoning have been confirmed in consumers who ate fish harvested in the northern Gulf of Mexico, the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday.

The FDA said that fish such as grouper, snapper, amberjack and barracuda represent the most significant threat to consumers. They feed on fish that have eaten toxic marine algae. The toxin is stable in the tissue of living fish and does them no harm. But larger carnivores have higher concentrations of the toxin in their tissues. As a result, the greatest risk of poisoning for humans comes from the largest fish.

Seemingly legitimate searches may lead users to sites that contain viruses, trojans, and other malicious code that can be easily transferred to the browser’s computer.

Gen. Creighton Abrams, who commanded American military operations in Vietnam from 1968 to 1972, told subordinates that Gen. Truong was capable of commanding an American division. Gen. HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam -- Like most Vietnamese, Nguyen Ngoc Binh is a Buddhist. But when Christmas comes, he wraps a pillow around his belly, dons a red suit and covers his face with a bushy white beard.

Binh is so enamored of St. Nick that he has set up a Santa Claus training academy, with a curriculum that covers everything from toys to reindeer to Jingle Bells. He has trained 25 Santas this year, and they're struggling to keep up with their booming gift delivery business.

Pusan world preempreem will lead to additional fest berths, but this glossy production deserves to be seen by a wider commercial audience. ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Sanh Nguyen and his family packed everything from their past life into just a few bags. But what they received when they arrived in California instantly became their most prized possession. It's called an I-94, the government form that proves they came here legally and the ticket to obtaining a green card next year. It's also the first document they've had in 16 years proving they belong anywhere at all.

(Sanh Nguyen displays a map of the escape from Vietnam he and his wife Nhi, left, then pregnant with their daughter Truc, now 16, center, made in 1989, at the home of the Vietnamese-American family that sponsored them in Anaheim, Calif., Friday, Sept. 30, 2005. Sanh, his wife and daughter were among 229 stateless refugees who fled Vietnam and, due to a quirk of timing, would have to spend years in a refugee camp in the Philippines.
